[PETERBOROUGH] The Greater Peterborough Area Economic Development Corporation (GPA EDC)’s Business Advisory Centre is excited to announce Jo Anne’s Place as the June recipient of the EPIC Ventures program. EPIC (Entrepreneurs Proudly Investing in our Community) Ventures is a program that has been designed to recognize the Peterborough region’s small business community’s contribution to economic growth, quality of life and creative business opportunities.
Jo Anne’s Place was selected by a committee of volunteers and was chosen from a list of nominees for their dedication to providing natural and organic products for beauty, food and supplements to contribute to the well-being of individuals living in the community and for creating awareness of healthy alternatives.
Jo Anne’s Place started in 1976 as a Health Food Store in the Kawartha Lakes region with 2 employees. Since then, they have added 2 locations on Water Street and Lansdowne Street in Peterborough growing to employ 48 full and part-time staff in the community. Jo Anne’s Place was also recognized for quietly supporting programs and education in the region focused specifically on children’s mental health.

Jo Anne’s Place will receive a promotional prize pack that includes a “My Peterborough” radio feature on the KRUZ FM, a profile on PTBOCanada.com, on-line recognition on the Peterborough This Week and Peterborough Examiner websites, downtown display space provided by DNS Real Estate Limited Brokerage, a profile in The Business Beat, a one hour marketing insight session with Lazer Graphics, a one hour social media consultation with Sofie Andreou and lunch with MPP Jeff Leal.
Each month the BAC will collect nominations from the City and County of Peterborough and a winner will be chosen to receive the promotional prize pack. Nominations for the EPIC Ventures program are due by the 20th of each month. Nomination forms can be found at www.BusinessAdvisoryCentre.ca
