Seniors Dreams Incorporated recognized as an EPIC Venture

Corporation makes dreams come true for Seniors in the Greater Peterborough Area

[PETERBOROUGH] The Greater Peterborough Area Economic Development Corporation (GPA EDC)’s Business Advisory Centre is excited to announce Seniors Dreams Incorporated as the monthly EPIC Venture. Located in Peterborough, Ontario, Seniors Dreams improves the quality of life for seniors and enlists the help of the community to provide special opportunities to seniors who have worked hard to build our communities.  In these difficult financial times there are many seniors who lack the funds to make even their simplest dreams come true. Simple things – like a visit to the hair salon or fishing trip – can be impossible for many seniors. A trip to visit a loved one or a special friend is only a dream for many.

“We’re very excited to be recognized as an EPIC Venture,” says Mark Twyman, Founder and Director, “From our experience in working with seniors in nursing homes, there is a gap in services to assist seniors in achieving their dreams of getting their hair done at a salon, going out for a nice dinner or having the opportunity to travel to visit a loved one in another community. It is exhilarating to work in collaboration with our four staff, volunteers and the community, to make someone’s dream come true.”

Seniors Dreams has facilitated dreams in the Greater Peterborough Area in collaboration with the following businesses:  OHAIRA, Dancing Blueberries, Paget Denture Clinic, Reitman’s, Fifth Avenue Jewellery, Home Instead Senior Care, Call A Cab, Snap, Kim Wilson & Associates. Together they have inspired seniors to continue to create memories.

Seniors Dreams will receive a promotional prize pack that includes a “My Peterborough” radio feature on the KRUZ FM, a profile on PTBOCanada.com, on-line recognition on the Peterborough This Week and Peterborough Examiner websites, downtown display space provided by DNS Real Estate Limited Brokerage, a profile in The Business Beat and a one hour social media consultation with Sofie Andreou.

The GPA EDC is committed to promoting vibrant economic and employment opportunities. EPIC (Entrepreneurs Proudly Investing in our Community) Ventures is a program that recognizes the Peterborough region’s small business community’s contribution to economic growth, quality of life and creative business opportunities.  Each month the BAC will collect nominations from the City and County of Peterborough and a winner will be chosen to receive the promotional prize pack.
