Doctor Appreciation Day: 2012

For the eleventh consecutive year, we are announcing that Thursday, January 26/12 will be this year’s Doctor Appreciation Day in the Greater Peterborough Area.  Many advances have been made over the past number of years in the area of health care in our area including the opening of the Peterborough Regional Health Centre and the significant increase of family physicians working in this community.

On January 26th citizens of our community are once again being asked to celebrate and recognize the contributions of their physicians.  As was introduced last year, many physicians have asked that, although they have been touched by the generous gifts of a personal kind to them over the years, they are encouraging patients to make a donation to the Peterborough Regional Health Care Foundation.  The Foundation receives donations in an effort to support the ongoing need for the increasing need of medical technology and equipment needed to help save lives on a daily basis at PRHC.

On the 26th the community will also have an opportunity to celebrate publicly at the Peterborough Pete’s game where a number of physicians and their immediate family members will be guests at the game.   It is hoped that patients will participate in this event with the same enthusiasm as they have in the past.
