Business Retention and Expansion (BR+E) Project

BR+E is a community-based volunteer-driven economic development tool, used to encourage the growth and stability of local business. Funded through the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in partnership with other government agencies, the BR+E process assists communities by identifying opportunities for expansion and the barriers facing local businesses. The GPA EDC facilitated the completion of studies in the tourism and retail and mining from 2005 – 2007, the results are below:
