The main image featured on this page is the historic Peterborough Lift Lock, completed in 1904 it is the highest operating hydraulic Lift Lock in the world. Located on the Trent-Severn Waterway connected to the Great Lakes of North America, it is recognized as a National Historical Site of Canada and an American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME) Landmark.
